This is an opportunity for an experienced Chef Manager to join an innovative and forward thinking company that is a leading catering supplier.

In this role you will be working for a top educational facility in North Adelaide and providing quality food. You will be cooking for residents and also for a multi functional catering facility. 

This position will be diverse, challenging and well rewarded. Overseeing the daily food operation for 240+ university students. The role is fast paced and demands a hospitality professional who can demonstrate previous hands-on cooking and management experience within the education sector with attention to detail.

Roster: Options for Five day week Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 (Hours may vary) or Six days a week including Sunday 10:00 to 18:30 (Hours placed into time in lieu to provide income for the long summer break)
Note – Extra hours will be required for functions occasionally.

The salary: $85k pro rata 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Making sure the students have a great culinary experience.
  • Rostering & managing a large team
  • Menu planning & costing.
  • Function planning & costings.
  • cooking a wide range of meals: fresh baked morning/afternoon tea; hot lunches, soup, evening meal and desserts
  • Consideration of special dietary requirements including; allergies/intolerances, supplements
  • Overall management of food service Operations
  • Financial management including working within weekly budgets, administration, food and labour cost analysis and management, stock management
  • Forming and maintaining key relationships with residents, culinary team, client and management
  • Strict adherence to Food Safety practices, HACCP and WH&S principles

Key Essential Criteria:

  • Significant experience & a proven track record in a large multifaceted catering operation
  • A passion for great food and customer service
  • Trade qualified Chef
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of Food Safety
  • A commitment to team development & leadership
  • Pride in personal hygiene & presentation
