Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Summary: As Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and directing all financial activities of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for implementing financial strategies, ensuring compliance, providing insightful analysis, and guiding the executive team in making sound business decisions. You will have the opportunity to lead a talented finance team and contribute to the overall growth and success of our earthmoving business, Although the position will be based out of the Perth central office, the successful candidate will be required to infrequently fly up to Northern WA location.
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Directing the establishment of financial/accounting principles, procedures, and practices in line with legal & corporate requirements
  • Ensuring accurate & timely financial reports and forecasts for the whole organisation so as to provide a clear insight into its financial condition.
  • Advising on the financial implications of management decisions & establishing the financial soundness of proposed acquisitions & divestment of assets or businesses.
  • Ensuring that the profits of the organisation are protected through the establishment of effective financial controls.
  • Implementing and maintaining appropriate management accounting and reporting systems, budgetary controls & expenditure procedures.
  • Implementing policies to ensure the security of funds & assets.
  • Guiding the lodgement of tax and other returns to comply with all statutory requirements and administering insurance cover & claims.

 
Requirements:

  1. Proven Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, within the construction, civil or Earthmoving industries ESSENTIAL
  2. Strategic Vision: A strong track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive business growth and success.
  3. Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data, conduct financial analysis, and present strategic recommendations to the executive team.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory compliance applicable to the industry.
  5. Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  6. Integrity and Ethical Conduct: Exemplary professional ethics and integrity in handling financial matters.
