What is the Role?
We’re growing… and FAST! The role of the Field Officer is to manage the end-to-end Group Training Organisation (GTO) service delivery.
 
The main objective will be to cultivate strong relationships with both employers and candidates, matching suitable apprentices and trainees with host organisation. This role will play a pivotal part in identifying opportunities for growth through effective account management and business development.

This role will be responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, progress and successful completion of your apprentice and trainee caseload. Additionally, they will monitor the progress and performance of apprentices, providing ongoing support and mentorship to ensure a successful and rewarding experience for them. Ensuring the safety and well-being of all candidates during their training experience will be at the forefront of their responsibilities. They will need to liaise with the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and host to align workplace responsibilities with the units of competency being worked towards, ultimately facilitating the completion of the apprenticeship or traineeship.
 
This role includes, but isn’t limited to:

  • Identify potential apprentices and trainees by advertising, networking and interviewing candidates.
  • Onboard successful candidates including facilitating Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment, Work Health and Safety Induction, any training required prior to commencement, training contract signing with AASN and on-site induction on the apprentice or trainees first day.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring, training and support through regular communication and site visits.
  • Regularly assess the performance and progress of apprentices and trainees, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the apprentices to ensure that they are well-established and to provide additional support.
  • Ensure Apprentice has resources required to undertake all workplace responsibilities such as PPE and tools.
  • Liaise with RTO and host to monitor apprentices and trainees progress against individual training plans, facilitating competency-based completion when sufficient progress is demonstrated.
  • Identify opportunities to growth through business development and effective account management.
  • Provide clear and accurate advice to host employers to help understanding of apprenticeship system, provision of a safe workplace and ensure apprentice supervision and development.
  • Facilitate rotation of apprentices to different hosts as operational and financial factors require.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of apprenticeship and traineeship placements, training plans, and safety assessments.
  •  Ensure adherence to relevant industry regulations, apprenticeship and traineeship guidelines, and GTO standards.
  • Conduct field visits every 4-12 weeks as part of contractual obligations and to identify any challenges and obstacles during field operations.
  • Meet set weekly, monthly, and yearly targets and KPI’s.
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with Collar Group’s systems, policy, procedures, and legislation including adherence to privacy requirements for record accuracy and currency.
  • Provide mentoring and training to junior staff

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Recruitment Business Development Sales
  • 3 Years’ Experience in a Similar Role
  • Relevant Business Qualification is Advantageous (Not Essential)
  • WA Driver’s License & Reliable Transport is Essential
  • Valid/Current Working with Children’s Check
