Collar Group’s Medical team currently requires a experienced Nurse Unit Manager to work with Australia’s only national private hospital operator and healthcare provider.

We seeking a professional Nurse Unit Manager with a drive and commitment to high standards of care for patients who are friendly and have an enduring
personality. 

As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital
  • Provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of the nursing care that is evidence based
  • Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure the customer service is maintained at optimal levels
  • Participate in marketing initiatives of the hospital to promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums
  • Undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of nursing team
  • Work as part of the healthcare team, adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures and key performance indicators
  • Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety and achievement of hospital accreditation
  • Take an active role in the management of WHS issues pertaining the unit
  • Completion of yearly performance reviews

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering on Key KPIs
  • Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice and facilitation
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage human and material resources as a senior leader on the ward
  • Post graduate qualifications in nursing or commitment to obtaining the same (desirable)
  • Recent management experience at ANUM level or higher (desirable)
  • Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desirable)
