We are working with a client that supports Governments around the world in the delivery of essential public services for a Project Manager/Officer to support management of infrastructure and facilities management related works.

  • Location – Western Australia
  • Fantastic hourly rate
  • Temporary position leading to permanent 

 
The purpose of the position:
 
This position will be required to provide project management knowledge for the delivery of project objectives  ensuring that time, budget, compliance and quality objectives are met. Knowledge, skills and abilities required include built assets and infrastructure, project planning, commissioning & decommissioning, stakeholder liaison, contractor and consultant management, procurement, legislative compliance and development and implementation of policy and procedures.

The role is responsible for supporting the Capital Works & Facilities Management teams in the efficient and economical management of infrastructure and facilities management related works at sites within the Immigration Detention & Justice Contracts. Ensuring the provision of a safe, cost effective service that meets the standards specified in the applicable contracts.
 
Key responsibilities:

  • Identify, plan, schedule and monitor project activities using effective project management methodology to meet desired time, budget, compliance and quality objectives
  • Develop and compile all relevant project plans, business cases, progress reports and documentation required to support the implementation of key deliverables
  • Provide project administration support including meeting minutes, agendas and presentations
  • Produce comprehensive schedules in various formats and detail to suit different users
  • Translate project deliverables, activities, date constraints and milestones
  • Proactively monitor and report key date milestones, resourcing levels and program change management.
  • Communicate with subject matter experts and liaise with all key stakeholders
  • Forecast the impacts on schedule of proposed changes
  • Develop strong working relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain project documentation including the risk, issues, decisions and lessons logs, status reports, project schedules and project plans
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously as required
  • Identify, manage and escalate project risks and conflicts. Assist with resolving issues and implement mitigating strategies
  • Develop and compile all relevant project plans, business cases, progress reports and documentation required to support the implementation of key deliverables
  • Providing accurate Asset Data Lists from any Capital Works
  • Understand and learn key elements of all FM deliverables including use of the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system

  
Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification or trade background with a strong FM/Project Management experience – highly advantageous 
  • Degree in a building or construction discipline
     – Diploma of Project management
     – Diploma of Management
  •  – or relevant previous experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within building/construction trade and experience covering all aspects of construction, project management & contractor management
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrable history of developing Scopes of Works, proposal submission and articulation of business cases
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project
  • Demonstrated effective performance indicating a high degree of interpersonal skills, personal integrity, credibility, capacity for innovative thought and action and ability to work as a member of a team with minimal direction and supervision
  • A current Australian drivers’ license
