Radio and Communications Technician

The position:
You will be part of a team that will perform project & maintenance works on mine sites as well as conduct repairs and builds based in Kalgoorlie & Kewdale workshops in WA or in Orange in NSW. Occasionally traveling to various sites on a variety of rosters to perform installation works, break down repairs and routine maintenance on a variety of communication systems and equipment. Both fly in/fly out and drive in/drive out options available.

Scope of Work:

• UHF & VHF Leaky Feeder System installation and maintenance on both analogue and digital platforms in active mining environments
• Telemetry systems
• PLC systems
• Two-way radio repeater infrastructure
• Optical fibre and copper networks including installation
• Termination and testing
• Microwave Systems, and
• Bench level electronic repairs

Essentials:

• Current Drivers Licence 
• Australian Trade Certificate in Electrotechnology, Communications or equivalent 
• Right to Work in Australia

Desirables:

• Have extensive experience in underground mine two-way radio leaky feeder systems
• Have extensive experience in component level electronic repairs 
• Have experience in installing and maintaining microwave systems 
• Have a fundamental understanding in RF Theory and IP Network operations
