As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Designer to join their team and contribute to ongoing success.

As a Senior Civil Designer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of design and drafting services for projects. Working closely with the Team Lead, you will ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of design deliverables while maintaining high-quality standards. Your technical expertise and leadership will contribute to the successful execution of projects and the growth of our civil group.

About the role:

  • Collaborate with the Team Lead to plan, coordinate, and schedule project services to meet project outcomes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage the design process, utilizing your commercial, contractual, and technical expertise to deliver high-quality designs within specified timeframes.
  • Develop cost-effective designs that align with project and client requirements, ensuring accuracy and correctness of documentation before use.
  • Review the work of support staff to ensure technical accuracy and provide guidance and feedback when necessary.
  • Delegate tasks and workload within the team to optimize resource utilization and efficiency.
  • Liaise with authorities and relevant stakeholders to secure timely approvals for project activities.
  • Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders to negotiate project outcomes and address any design-related issues or concerns.
  • Promptly communicate design issues or adverse situations to clients, ensuring transparency and proactive problem-solving.
  • Maintain and enhance your proficiency in design software such as 12D, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the civil group, actively participating in its expansion and success.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety standards, ensuring the well-being of yourself and your team members.

About you:

  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Cert IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in civil design, with a focus on project coordination and delivery.
  • Proficiency in design software such as 12D, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, contractual, and technical aspects of civil design projects.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet project timelines and budgets.
  • Ability to review and assess the work of support staff, providing guidance and feedback when needed.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and authorities.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting safety protocols.
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
