Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer

Collar Talent Group are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer for our client who’s operations focus primarily on the design of slurry pipeline transportation systems, with projects ranging from test work campaigns (carried out by our in-house laboratories and workshops) and conceptual and trade-off studies to detailed design and commissioning.

  • Onsite (5:2) roster, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Key role responsibilities duties & responsibilities include:

  • Managing internal teams and mentoring subordinates
  • Managing and delivering major projects on time and within budget
  • Liaising with clients and subcontractors to ensure project deliverables meet with Company and client  specifications/requirements.
  • Directing day-to-day project operations
  • Improve existing and develop new client relationships
  • Develop and review basic/standard and complex project proposals
  • Act as project manager of large and complex engineering projects (including studies)
  • Issue/Review detailed project close-out reports, at the completion of each project Engineering Design: 
  • Provide the Company’s drawing office with details needed for them to produce complex models, GA and other detail drawings
  • Review and approve such drawings
  • Develop, review and approve standard engineering deliverables
  • Develop, review and approve other engineering designs
  • Assist with the training of intermediate /junior engineering staff 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in slurry transportation/mineral processing, pipeline or pump station detailed design
  • Prior work experience in a supervisory capacity/leadership role
  • Significant project management experience
  • Excellent computer literacy skills, including with MS Office package
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Sound people management/soft skills
  • Strong knowledge of slurry transport systems

 
Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of steady-state slurry hydraulics and fluid mechanics
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical stress analysis
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline transient analysis
  •  Prior or current experience with modelling/drawing software, including AutoCAD/Inventor/MicroStation/OpenRoads

Other requirements:

  • Valid Australian driver’s license
  • Professional Engineering Chartership with EA or APEA
  • Ability and willingness to travel when and if required
  • Flexibility to work outside standard office hours, if and when reasonable
  • Willingness to comply with government mandated health directives, including vaccinations
